Goalkeepers will be taught the techniques, positioning, and decision-making processes of dealing with high balls, dealing with balls in behind the back line (thru balls & back passes), shot-stopping, and goalkeeping as the 1st Attacker – goal kicks, punts, passing/receiving, etc. Goalkeepers will have to play with their feet and help build the attack in small-sided games and match play as well as be exposed to managing the restraining line, crosses, and re-starts in large-sided games. Keepers will be prompted to read the game and use their voice to organize and command their team. GK camp activities and games will be used to apply all of the above while also creating a competitive AND supportive environment amongst those in attendance. Players will be grouped by age and ability. GKs will integrate with field players for match play and other competitions. Throw in some down time at the Residence Hall to hang out with fellow campers as well as Bama Soccer players and other camp staff, and this is the ultimate fun soccer experience for any level of player.

Training Groups - will be assigned based on age and ability. You can request Camp Teammates this year in the registration portal. PLEASE have this information ready to go so you do not have to email those requests separately.
-
Roommate Requests/Assignment - Many campers attend as individuals. If this is your plan, then you are not alone and our camp is designed for you to have an awesome experience! However, if you are attending with a friend or friend(s) and have suite mate requests, then make sure this is set prior to registering for camp with those you are requesting. This is a great camp for groups of teammates! But please have these conversations prior to registering so it is all worked out by YOU. If left to us, then you will just have to live with your assignment and not try to change things at check-in. For example, if 7 club teammates are attending together, those 7 should have things sorted with who is rooming with who BEFORE registering. Four would have to be in one suite and three in another. Those three would then need to be prepared to share that suite and welcome a camper attending as an individual. If this is too much to ask, then this is not the camp for you. You can request roommates from any of the 3 camps - Junior Elite, HS Elite ID, or Bama GK Academy.

Residence Hall Assignment - UA Housing cannot guarantee our residence hall assignment this early as renovation projects after the Spring semester are too difficult to project at this point. For now, plan on Riverside East. We will be able to confirm Riverside East or give you new information later. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
