The University of Alabama continues to make great strides in its academic profile. Several academic programs have steadily and in some cases abruptly risen up the rankings. With a dual emphasis on creating an ideal undergraduate experiential learning environment and becoming a top research institution of higher education, UA is now considered one of the top universities in the U.S.

A commitment from the state as well as its proud alumni and donors has allowed the university to continue to build, expand, and renovate what was already one of the most beautiful campuses in the southern United States. In 2003, the enrollment at UA was around 20,000 students. It is now over 36,000 students. We are the fastest growing flagship university in the United States. New academic facilities, residential villages, and campus life facilities are constantly in the works at this exciting time in UA’s tradition of excellence.
